What is the Difference in Glass Temperature Between Clear IG and Low-E IG?
Low-E insulating glass has superior thermal insulation performance to clear insulating glass: In winter, when outdoor temperatures are lower, its inner surface temperature is higher; in summer, when outdoor temperatures are higher, its inner surface temperature is lower.
Detailed calculations have been done using WINDOW software for reference.
| Glass Structure | Surface Temperature Outside | Surface Temperature Inside |
| Clear IG | Winter-14.7℃ Summer32.2℃ | Winter7.6℃ Summer31.1℃ |
| Low-E IG | Winter-17.1℃ Summer37.1℃ | Winter13.4℃ Summer27.9℃ |
